Cubs and Scouts at Eumeralla : Mud, Caving, Surfing and Mud

Our Cubs and Scouts sections returned once again to the amazing Eumeralla camp near Anglesea for their start of year camp. After a week of monitoring high fire-danger conditions the group deferred departure until the change on Saturday morning, at which stage 40 youth and 10 adults hit the road and arrived in Anglesea just in time for a day of wave after wave of rain!

Scouts and Cubs were undeterred – tents were set and a kitchen / dining tent-and-tarp haven was established to weather the worst of the storms…

Fortunately Eumeralla is now the home of the Vertical Team’s indoor caving setup that we last saw at VicJam – so Saturday afternoon saw many hours of clambering in and around pipes, tubes, climbing walls.

Sunday morning saw some weary Scouts for a 6am start and 7am hike down to Anglesea – all worth it as Scouts (and then Cubs) were able to surf and use up the last of their energy before we all packed up camp and return to the Ranges. Another amazing weekend at Eumeralla!
